WHAT'S THE SCOOP ON YOUR WORKSHOPS & SAT PREP CLASSES?
Our Workshops and SAT Prep courses are online. We use Zoom for our classes, so you'll need to be able to run Zoom to participate. We keep the workshops and prep courses small so that we can give each student the attention they deserve. We build Language Arts skills (writing, vocabulary, reading, and grammar) into everything we do while providing insight, information, and a chance to receive and discuss feedback.
IS THERE AN ENROLLMENT DEADLINE?
The cost varies with the number of sessions. For Literature and SAT Prep course, your student will need to own the book we use. When that is the case, it will be stated in the course information.
WHAT ABOUT CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS?
Cancellations will be made 48 hours prior to a workshop start date if we do not meet the minimum enrollment of five students.
Refunds will be made up to 72 hours before a workshop begins. Once a workshop begins, a full refund will be given for a withdrawal after the first class. After that, there are no refunds.
Please email with REFUND REQUEST in the subject to request a refund.
TELL ME ABOUT SUMMER CAMP
We with ART of INQUIRY to offer a summer camp that meets from 9-3. Payment and enrollment for KidWrite! is made on this site. Payment/enrollment for ART of INQUIRY is made on their site as a separate charge. The kids will meet onsite at Artichoke Art Studio in Gaithersburg, MD. During the KidWrite! camps, they will work with a different short story each time. Based on that short story they will discuss plot and other aspects of literature; they will write essays and present their ideas; they will write short stories of their own. I like things lively, so there will be some time for activities, too. Your child can sign up for only the KidWrite! sessions from 12-3 if you prefer a half-day at that time.
DO YOU OFFER ONE-ON-ONE TUTORING?
YES! We offer online and in-person tutoring. We also have activity kits, book reviews, and more.
Your child must be enrolled 24 hours before the start of a workshop.
WHAT ARE THE COSTS?
HOW DO STUDENTS INTERACT WITH EACH OTHER (does online really work ...)?
Your kids are far more facile with tech and being online that you might want to know. They chime right in, work on the Zoom whiteboard to share their ideas, and put their work into folders for feedback from me.
